Valerian Ponczek and Ponczek Family
Valerian Ponczek born 1888 (?), _______, West Prussia
Valerian Ponczek was "Uncle Valerian" to the children of Alfons and Antonia Tybus. He was born on December 21. His birthday is known because it is the same as Alfons Tibus, and decades later they would celebrate the day together in Chicago.
What year is a guess based on photographs.
In the photo on the right, Valerian is seen at photograph right, middle row. This photo was taken by Antonia in 1912, on about her 24th birthday, in West Prussia.,

The family's home town is not yet known. It was not Dirschau because Augusta's birth record was not found there. Presumably it was somewhere close to Dirschau.
Valerian Ponczek (Uncle Valerian) was either the son of a brother of Augusta or an unmarried sister.
Martha Ponczek and Antonia Ponczek are named in Antonia's christening record and cards. Either or both could be married -- the use of a woman's maiden name in records seems quite common.
What happened to Uncle Valerian? Where he went after the time he was known to the Norek children in Chicago is not known.
