(click photos/documents to see details)

Helena's Illness and
1906 Death
Helena dies of tuberculosis on June 7, 1906, at the age of 49.
Her death certificate states that the illness started 10 months prior. Since
tuberculosis is (as I understand) a long illness, I presume she was bedridden,
and/or at a tuberculosis sanitarium since July of 1905 but had been ill a much
longer time.
Helena is the earliest listed on the tombstone at the Norek family
plot in St. Boniface cemetery on north Clark Street.
Were the children
lost in infancy, Johann Franz, Theresa and Helena, buried in that plot or
elsewhere at St. Boniface?
St.
Boniface is a German Catholic cemetery, and the
first tombstone inscriptions, which are for Helena and her husband Michael, are
in German.
I am presuming that the inscription for Michael Norek, except
his date of death (which would be almost half a century later), were on the
tombstone when it was first placed on the family plot.
