See 1817-1892:  Jacob Tybus & Christina Lardau.

Linear ancestors to all descendants of Michael J. Norek, and all descendants of Alfons Tibus.

Married in 1842 in Dirschau, West Prussia.

Eight children were located in the christening records, Catholic church in Dirschau, namely Maria, Johann, August, Anna, Francisca, Michael, Helena and Franz.

First-batch Norek children/descendents descend from Jacob and Christina through their daughter Helena.

Second-batch Norek children/descendants descend from Jacob and Christina through their son Michael, whose oldest daughter was Antonia.

Mother of Michael Norek (who was born unehelich in 1864 in Pr. Stargard, West Prussia).

Paternal Grandmother of Lucy, Cecelia, Johann, Mary, Stephen, Anton, Anna, Helena, Theresa, Michael, Josephine, Peter, Gertrude, Dorothy, Dolores, Ruth, Thomas and George (but believed she remained unknown to all of them).

Born on (still searching).

No photos - none ever expected.

Franz Kochonske

Possibly the name of Michael Norek’s father.

Name derived from 'Franz Norek/Josephine Kochonske' listing in my baby book.

Presume Grandpa (Michael Norek) provided baby-book information.

Norek is now know to have been Josephina’s surname, not Franz's.

Father  Michael & Leonardo (twins, did not survive), Alfons, Antonia, (male, name unknown)), Anna and Theophile (did not survive).

Born on September 21, 1854.

Three photos - in Prussian military uniform, family studio photograph in 1904 and at age 58 with family, including Grandchildren Michael and Josephine Norek.

Younger sister of Michael T and Godmother to his first born.

Married Michael Norek in 1888.

Mother of first-batch Norek children Lucy, Cecelia, Johann, Mary, Stephen, Anton, Anna, Helena and Theresa.

Aunt of Antonia and Alfons, and Great-Aunt of second-batch Norek children.

Born on April 17, 1857.  Died at age 49 on June 7, 1906 in Chicago, Illinois

No photos - at least not so far.  If anyone has a photo that might be Helena, please let me know.

Born unehelich in Pr. Stargard, West Prussia, on September 26, 1864 to Josephina Norek.  Father not named (still searching, possibly named Franz Kochonske).

Married Helena Tibus in 1888.

Married Antonia Tibus in 1908.

Father (with Helena) of first-batch Norek children - Lucy, Cecelia, Johann, Mary, Stephen, Anton, Anna, Helena and Theresa.

Father (with Antonia) of second-batch Norek children - Michael, Josephine, Peter, Gertrude, Dorothy, Dolores, Ruth, Thomas and George

Died at age 87 on October 25, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois.

Many photos from about 1900 to 1951.

Married Michael Tibus in about 1884 somewhere other than Dirschau, presume in West Prussia.

Mother of Michael & Leonardo (twins, did not survive), Alfons, Antonia, (male, name unknown)), Anna and Theophile (did not survive).

Owned and operated a bakery and raised his children in Chicago, Illinois.

Cousin to Alfons and Antonia.

Uncle to second-batch Norek children.

Born on same date, possibly same year, as Alfons.

Believed born in West Prussia

A skier; known to have lived Switzerland.

Known to have lived, and possibly married, in Chicago, Illinois when second-batch Norek children and Alfons' children were in their childhood.

Ultimate whereabouts unknown.

Photos - on the 1912 Tibus family photograph with Antonia's first two children, two signed photographs skiing in upper Bavaria, photograph marked Zurick.

Any information on the where, when, why about Uncle Valerian greatly appreciated.

Born on October 14, 1888, Dirschau, West Prussia.

Godfather was Michael Tibus.

Arrived as a four-year-old in U.S. with her parents and little sister on May 19, 1892.

Married and raised a family in Chicago, Illinois area.

Photos - at Cecelia's wedding and at Saingers picnic 1913, more would be greatly appreciated.

Linear ancestor of all second-batch Norek children/descendants.

Fourth child and first daughter of Michael Tibus and Augusta Ponczek.

Born October 31, 1888, Dirschau, West Prussia.

Christened Antonia Helena, after her Aunt Antonia Ponczek and her Aunt Helena (Tibus) Norek.

Born 17 days after her cousin Lucy Norek.

Cousin to, and then step-mother of, first-batch Norek children.

Arrived in U.S. at age 15 (almost 16) on October 20, 1904, passage paid for by "uncle" and destination of home of uncle Michael Norek, 176 W. 22nd Place, Chicago, Illinois.

Married Michael Norek on June 13, 1908.

Mother of second-batch Norek children - Michael, Josephine, Peter, Gertrude, Dorothy, Dolores, Ruth, Thomas and George..

Died at age 78 on August 25, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois.

Third child (first son) of Michael and Helena (Tibus) Norek.

Born September 4, 1893, Chicago, Illinois.

Died on September 20, 1894, age 1 year, 10 days.

No death certificate available (not required at that date).

Funeral Mass at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

Burial, St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Chicago.

No photographs.

Died March 5, 1908, age 14, chronic endocarditis.

Born December 24, 1894, Chicago, Illinois.

Namesake of his older brother John who died 3 months prior.

Married and raised his family in the Chicago area.

Sixth child of Michael and Helena (Tibus) Norek.

Born April 15, 1896, Chicago, Illinois.

Born two days before his mother’s 39th birthday.

Followed his father into the tool and die maker trade.

Died September 6, 1914, age 18, motorcycle accident.

Funeral Mass at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

Burial, St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Chicago.

Seventh (youngest surviving) child of Michael and Helena (Tibus) Norek.

Born August 30, 1897, Chicago, Illinois.

Namesake of her mother Helena Tybus/Tibus.

Married and raised her family in the Chicago area.

Twin of Theresa.

Eighth child of Michael and Helena (Tibus) Norek.

Born February 12, 1900.

Died July 12, 1900, age six months.

Funeral Mass at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

Burial, St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Chicago.

No photographs.

Twin of Helena.

Ninth child of Michael and Helena (Tibus) Norek.

Born February 12, 1900 (date of twin’s birth).

Died possibly February 16, 1900, age 4 days.

Not christened on February 25th with her twin Helena.

Her existence strongly supported by family history.

Michael Norek's tenth child.

Born October 14, 1908.

Born on Lucy's 20th birthday.

His Godfather was Lucy's husband Leo.

At age 5 travelled back to West Prussia with Antonia and little sister Josephine.

Ring-bearer at Cecelia's wedding.

Married and raised his family in Chicago.

Died at the age of 88 in 1996, and buried at the Town of Maine Cemetery in Park Ridge, Illinois.

Lots of photographs (he's my Dad).

1910-1919:   Josephine, Peter, Gertrude, Dorothy, Dolores, Ruth, Thomas, George.
